MLK & Lama

My favorite passage from MLK is the following quote “We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, effects all indirectly. Never again can we afford to live with the narrow, provincial “outsider agitator” idea. Anyone who lives inside the United State can never be considered an outsider anywhere within its bounds”. This part is very important because it’s true, if we are Americans than I believe we should have the same equal rights. They can’t be considered outsiders if they living inside the United State.
In the Dalai Lama my favorite passage is “We must develop a sense of universal responsibility not only in the geographic sense, but also in the respect to the different issues that confront our planet”. This part of the essay shows very important statement. We can see how our inner peace can solve to not only a geographic peace but also a universal peace. He’s encouraging us to think more out of the box, world wild peace.
My own idea on habit we can develop that might promote peace would be a SMILE. Just by smiling to someone down the hall makes they day complete. Something that comes from you to someone else that is positive is always a habit of peace. At least in my opinion it, because we see a lot people daily, in work, school, bus, roads, shops, restaurants and at the mail box it’s very important to smile to the people that would make peace and shows that there is no hates or dislike habit toward the person.
