War, American got try, and they sent more and more of their young soldiers

this the lyrics of the song
Mama take this badge from me
I can't use it anymore
It's getting dark too dark to see
Feels like I'm knockin' on heaven's door
Knock-knock-knockin' on heaven's door, Hey, hey, hey, hey, yeah
Knock-knock-knockin' on heaven's door
Knock-knock-knockin' on heaven's door, Ooh, yeah
Knock-knock-knockin' on heaven's door, hey, hey, yeah
FIRST SOLO
Mama put my guns in the ground
I can't shoot them anymore
That cold black cloud is comin' down
Feels like I'm knockin' on heaven's door
Knock-knock-knockin' on heaven's door, Hey, hey, hey, hey, yeah
Knock-knock-knockin' on heaven's door
Knock-knock-knockin' on heaven's door, Ooh, yeah
Knock-knock-knockin' on heaven's door, hey, hey, yeah
The reason is, because many young people were killed in the war, and mothers were lost their kids and husbands in the war of Vietnam. Also the song talks about the people who doesn't have job and the kids have sign, that says why cannot give our father job.

Another song that I would add to the list would be when Jimi Hendrix played the Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock 1969. Throughout the song he tries to use his guitar to mimic the sounds of war. Probably the most recognizable noise is the distinctive whistle of falling bombs.

ReplyDeleteI like the lyrics of the song, very interesting !
ReplyDeleteBob's always been one of my favorites. And he usually had something to say. I've always had an appreciation for musicians who wear their political opinions on their sleeves, whether or not I agree with them
